Widely regarded to be the most legendary wine from South Africa, the Vin De Constance has been made for over 300 years and in that time has won acclaim from Napoleon to Charles Dickens and was even recommended as "a cure for a broken heart" by Jane Austen.
Made from 100% Muscat de Frontignan this natural sweet wine is a real gem, aged in a combination of 500L French and Hungarian oak barrels for 4 and a half years, of which 60% are new barrels.
A rich, darker golden honey colour with intense perfumed nose of complex
spice, cloves and vanilla. Developed secondary flavours of orange marmalade
and dark chocolate. The bold, sweet palate is perfectly balanced by tight acidity which results in a long-lingering honeyed finish.
This wine will benefit from extended cellaring."
